Q1. Do I need cooking experience to join the class?
No experience is required. The class is designed for beginners, and all steps are explained clearly so everyone can enjoy the experience.
Q2. What language is the class conducted in?
The class is mainly conducted in English.
Q3. Can you accommodate allergies or dietary restrictions?
Please contact us in advance and we will do our best to accommodate your needs. For safety reasons, we may not be able to accept participants with severe allergies.
Q4. Can I join the class with my child?
Children under 4 years old may accompany you, but they cannot participate in cooking for safety reasons. Parents or guardians must supervise them at all times.
Q5. How many people are there in one class?
Each class is limited to a maximum of 8 participants, allowing for a small-group, hands-on experience. Depending on the day, the class may have just a few participants or a slightly larger group, creating a relaxed and interactive atmosphere.
Q6. Can I book a class on the same day?
Depending on availability, same-day bookings may be possible. Please email us at info@osakacookingbase.com to check.
Q7. I want to book a class the day before, but reservations are closed online. What should I do?
We may be able to accommodate you depending on availability. Please contact us at info@osakacookingbase.com.
Q8. I want to join on a date that is not open for booking. Is it possible?
We cannot guarantee availability, but we will do our best to adjust if possible. Please email info@osakacookingbase.com with your request.
Pricing & Special Requests
Q9. What is included in the price?
The price includes the cooking lesson, ingredients, and use of all cooking tools. There are no additional charges.
Q10. What payment methods are accepted?
Payment is required online at the time of booking by credit card. For in-class purchases or last-minute / same-day bookings arranged directly with us, payment can be made in person by cash or credit card.
Q11. Do you offer private classes?
Yes, private classes are available for an additional fee. Please contact info@osakacookingbase.com with your preferred date, group size, and details.
Q12. Can I request a menu that is not listed on your website?
We may be able to accommodate special menu requests depending on availability and content. Please contact us individually by email at info@osakacookingbase.com.
During/After Class
Q13. Do I need to bring anything?
No. All ingredients, cooking tools, and aprons are provided.
Q14. Can we eat the food we cook during the class?
Yes, you will enjoy the dishes together after cooking. For legal and hygiene reasons, takeaway is not allowed.
Q15. Will I receive the recipe after the class?
Yes, recipes will be provided after the class so you can recreate the dishes at home.
Q16. Where is the meeting point?
The meeting point is in the Osaka Tenmangu / Minami-Morimachi area. Detailed instructions and directions will be sent after your booking is confirmed.
Local Tour
Q17. Do we buy ingredients for the class during the local tour?
No. All ingredients for the class are prepared separately in advance. During the local tour, we visit shops that have been loved by the local community for many years and are connected to traditional food culture.
