Join Us in Central Osaka for a Memorable Cooking Experience!

Pork Katsu Curry and a Local Shop Tour

Welcome to our katsu curry cooking class in Osaka, where you’ll learn to make one of Japan’s most loved comfort foods from scratch. From crispy golden pork cutlets to rich and flavorful curry sauce, this hands-on experience is perfect for travelers, food lovers, and anyone curious about Japanese home cooking.

All our cooking classes include a local shop tour. We will meet at Osaka Tenmangu Shrine and guide you through nearby local food shops before cooking begins. These are long established, locally owned shops that travelers rarely visit, where you can learn about traditional Japanese foods and food culture rooted in the community. You’ll also have the chance to ask questions directly to shop owners and staff. This part of the experience is especially popular with our guests.

The class begins with preparing the katsu – pork cutlets breaded and fried to crispy perfection. You’ll master techniques for coating, frying, and slicing just like it’s done in Japanese kitchens. Next, we’ll guide you through making savory Japanese curry sauce from scratch, using everyday ingredients that you can find at home too. After you take this katsu curry cooking class course in Osaka, you will be able to recreate the taste of Japan in your own kitchen, with the skills and confidence to cook this beloved dish anytime, anywhere.

Throughout the class, we also share the cultural story of Katsu Curry — how it became a staple in Japanese homes, school lunches, and restaurants. It’s more than a meal; it’s a piece of modern Japanese culture.

Our classes are interactive and welcoming. Ask questions, take photos, and chat with fellow guests from around the world. Whether you’re a seasoned home cook or total beginner, you’ll enjoy every step.

When the cooking is done, we sit down and enjoy the fruits of our labor: homemade Pork Katsu Curry served with rice and side dishes. It’s a satisfying, soul-warming dish you’ll be proud to recreate at home.

If you don’t eat pork, no problem — we can substitute chicken or offer a vegetarian option using vegetable fritters. Just let us know your preference in advance when booking.
